Description

Likelihood of the occurrence of acid soils in Central Asia at 30 arc-second ( about 1 km) resolution, derived from the FAO Soil Map of the World

Derived soil properties give an indication of soil management properties and are useful for biodiversity assesment

7 classes, ranging from very low likelihood (0-10%) to very high likelihood (>70%) of occurrence

Data Quality Information
Attribute Accuracy

The soil data that are the basis for these derived soil property maps are old and have not been updated since the first paper publication of the FAO Soil Map of the World (1974).

Positional Accuracy
Horizontal Positional Accuracy

Soil property accuracy is limited by (i) low scale (1:5,000,000) and occurrence with other soils in associations, hence the need to report in terms of 'likelihood' of a soil property being present (ii) old data (1970s at the latest).
